Utopia of the Seas at night.

Utopia of the Seas: Full Cruise Review

If you’ve been eyeing a trip on Royal Caribbean’s brand-new Utopia of the Seas, this review is for you. We just got back from a 4-night sailing and we’re breaking down everything — from balcony room views and nightlife vibes to tacos by the pool and hidden gems you don’t want to miss. Whether you’re planning your first cruise or just want the real scoop on Utopia’s party potential, chill spaces, and food game… we’ve got you covered.

First Impressions

We set sail on Utopia of the Seas in June 2025 for a 4-night adventure — and let’s just say, this ship brings the energy. As an 8-time cruiser (and Hannah’s 5th), we went in with high expectations… and left wishing the trip was longer. Utopia is a perfect balance of high-energy fun and chill adult escapes — and whether you’re a seasoned sailor or a first-timer, there’s something for you onboard.

Vibe Check

Utopia is a weekend warrior’s dream, packed with energy, fun, and zero shortage of things to do. But don’t let the party vibe fool you — there are plenty of moments of calm, especially in spots like the adults-only Solarium.

This cruise felt perfect for friend groups, couples, and even first-timers looking for a little of everything. Highlights for us?

  • Royal Kappa Chi Beer Pong 🍻
  • Silent Disco Toga Party 🎧

Despite being fully booked, it never felt too packed — just a fun, festive energy throughout.

Our Balcony

This was our first time in a balcony stateroom, and we’re now officially converted. We stayed on Deck 6, starboard side, and filmed a full TikTok room tour (see below!). From waking up to sea views to late-night stargazing — we loved it.

Favorite Venures Onboard

  • The Solarium: Sun-soaked, adults-only, and the perfect recovery zone.
  • Pesky Parrot: Themed tiki drinks and vibrant vibes — don’t skip the Space Tire 🍍🍹 (10/10!)

Utopia offers some standout venues that just feel cooler than on other ships. This ship is built for the TikTok crowd.

Food & Drink Highlights

We kept it casual this trip but were really impressed:

  • Windjammer surprised us with seafood, steak, and variety we hadn’t seen on other ships.
  • Main Dining Room: Only visited once, but it was solid.
  • Sorrento’s at night? Always a vibe.

Pro Tip: Grab taquitos and snack-sized eats from El Loco Fresh right by the pool for mid-day fuel.

Entertainment & Nightlife

While I’m not a big “sit-down show” guy, Utopia’s production value was insane. Even more up our alley were the free (yep, zero extra cost) themed parties and events:

  • Silent Disco Toga Party
  • Royal Kappa Chi Beer Pong Tournament
  • AquaTheater shows, live music, and more…

We didn’t make it to the nightclub (we almost did — it looked like a movie), but we’ll save that for next time.

Perfect Day at CocoCay

We always stop at Hideaway Beach Club — it’s our go-to — and this time, the weather was perfect. Your Deluxe Beverage Package works on the island, so naturally, we made the most of it.

After beach drinks, we headed over to Chill Island to cool off in the pool, and wrapped up with a crispy chicken sandwich. If you know, you know.

Tip: WEAR SUNSCREEN. Caribbean sun in the summer hits different. We left with some pretty wild burns.

Final Thoughts

Would we cruise Utopia again?
Absolutely — but we want a 5-nighter! Three nights isn’t enough, four is almost perfect, and five would let you really experience everything onboard.

If you’re sailing Utopia soon, here’s our advice: Don’t feel pressure to do everything. Find what YOU enjoy, and lean into that. There’s no “right” way to cruise.

Our Score: 8.5/10

Utopia of the Seas is everything we hoped it would be — fun, energetic, stylish, and loaded with unforgettable moments. Whether you’re sipping a frozen drink at Pesky Parrot, winning beer pong in a toga, or just watching the sunset from your balcony…

…it really is the perfect escape for a new wave of cruisers.
